Inflatable Boats Are Perfect For Water Sports
Whether you like to fish or go scuba diving,
inflatable boats offer a
money saving alternative to standard fishing boats. You will find the prices to
be more affordable than purchasing a boat with an aluminum or fiberglass hull.
The high quality materials used in these boats makes them rigid and nearly
unsinkable.
Rigid inflatable fishing boats are made with
inflatable chambers attached to a solid bottom and transom. The bottom of these
boats is usually made of either molded plastic or fiberglass. The result is a
boat with good stability. The rigidity of solid bottom boats is often preferred
for fishing. The stability allows you to stand while reeling in the “big one”,
without fear of tipping or falling into the water.
The inflatable chambers of a rigid inflatable boat are usually made of a UV
resistant fabric and feature a “Deep Vee” design. Larger boats come with seats
and lockers that are built into and around the centerline mounted helm station.
This is a great feature for storing fishing supplies. You can power inflatables
with your choice of electric or gasoline outboard motors, propeller or jet drive
engines.

The rigidity of all inflatable models or rigid bottom boats with inflatable
chambers makes them perfect for water sports. They are sturdy enough for
fishing, water skiing and are used for scuba diving trips. Owners of larger
yachts often choose them as a dinghy or yacht tender.
Completely inflatable models and rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) are available in
models to fit between two and eight people. The price of the boat will be
determined in part by the size. The size of rigid bottom fishing boats is
generally between ten and twenty six feet long. Keep in mind that these boats
are not as portable as soft bottom inflatables which come in sizes between eight
and fourteen feet in length and roll up to fit in a bag for carrying. Larger
RIBs may need to be transported with a trailer. Keep this in mind when selecting
inflatables.
